The RBB is looking for a new boss. Now the scandal broadcaster has publicly advertised the top job. Does the interim director also apply?
“All the threads in your hand” advertises the broadcaster for the chief post on Masurenallee. After the immediate expulsion of greed director Patricia Schlesinger (61, currently in Mallorca), WDR head of administration Katrin Vernau (49) took over the post for a year.
The most important requirement for the new boss: “Experience in crisis and change management”. Because since the revelations about nepotism and self-service, the RBB has not come to rest.
Transitional boss Vernau brought out the savings hammer and fired Schlesinger’s directors. They are now suing the broadcaster before the labor court. The ex-director demands 18,300 euros a month “pension”. In return, RBB wants around 250,000 euros back from Schlesinger.
Strange: The salary information is missing in the job advertisement. But the newcomer will probably not collect less than the 295,000 euros for Vernau. At Vernau’s request, the RBB supervisory board had reduced the director’s salary, but not the director’s salary.
Big changes are not to be expected, because: The new station boss should also come from a “public context”. And so Vernau did not rule out applying himself.
If she is elected, she will move from Cologne to Berlin – and waive her housing allowance of 18,000 euros.
