RB Leipzig target Folarin Balogun in the future in the US national team – Arsenal

Folarin Balogun will play for the United States national team. The US federation officially announced the decision of the previous England Under-21 international. The 21-year-old forward was born in New York City but moved to England with his parents when he was two years old. He has been playing there for Arsenal since he was eight years old.

Balogun is currently on Stade Reims and is one of the big starters in Ligue 1. In 34 league games, the right-footer scored 19 goals and prepared three more goals. In terms of market value, the youngster has increased from EUR 4 million when he started his loan last summer to EUR 25 million to date. Among his future US teammates, only Christian Pulisic (32m), Brenden Aaronson (30m) and Giovanni Reyna (28m) are more valuable ahead of the June market value updates (to the overview of the most valuable US professionals).

Balogun is under contract with Arsenal until 2025, but it is not clear whether he will be part of Mikel Arteta’s squad next season. In recent weeks, the striker has been linked to numerous clubs such as LOSC Lille, Eintracht Frankfurt or Union Berlin, and another loan was usually in the pipeline. With the rumors about RB Leipzig or AC Milan, a permanent transfer could not be completely ruled out, but Arsenal are said to be asking for a fee of at least 40 million euros.
