RB Leipzig striker Poulsen is out with a muscle injury

Leipzig (AP) – Cup winners RB Leipzig will start preparations for the new Bundesliga season on June 26 without their Danish striker Yussuf Poulsen.

The Dane had to be replaced injured in the 90th minute in the Nations League game against Croatia (0:1). This is a muscle fiber tear in the adductor area, as RB announced on Saturday. Poulsen will be out for at least six weeks. An MRI examination taking place in Denmark at the beginning of the week should show more details.

“It was my fifth muscle injury this season. It makes me angry,” said Poulsen, who now wants to get to the bottom of this series. “It’s the fifth place this has happened so I’m going to take a break now to have my body checked because something is obviously wrong.”

He wonders why this keeps happening. Obviously something isn’t 100 percent right when you suffer five different muscle injuries in five different locations from five different unrelated actions. “In any case, I will not play on Monday or in the next few weeks,” said Poulsen.
