RB Leipzig: Nicolas Seiwald replaces Konrad Laimer – 20th entry from Salzburg

After fixed Sesko transfer

With striker Benjamin Sesko (19), the 19th player from RB Salzburg will join sister club RB Leipzig next summer, but it shouldn’t be the only one. As the “Leipziger Volkszeitung“reported, the replacement for Konrad Laimer (25), who is about to move to Bayern Munich, should also come from Austria. Accordingly, Nicolas Seiwald will switch to the Saxons.

The 21-year-old ÖFB team player is still under contract with RB Salzburg until 2026 and is similar to Laimer in the entire game. The 20th new signing from Salzburg since the first commitment in 2014 is likely to be correspondingly expensive, the newspaper does not name a transfer fee. So far, the people of Leipzig have transferred a total of around 157 million euros to Austria. Like Sesko, Seiwald currently has a market value of EUR 20 million.

Laimer, whose contract with RB expires in the summer and does not want to extend it, has been associated with FC Bayern for months. There he is considered the player of choice by head coach Julian Nagelsmann, who has already worked with Laimer in Leipzig. A confirmation of the transfer is still pending, but the contract is said to have already been signed.
