RB Leipzig | Media: RB star open to move to the Premier League

It was only in the summer that Benjamin Sesko moved from Salzburg to RB Leipzig for almost 25 million euros. So far, the Slovenian storm talent has mostly only been used as a joker. Is this why the 20-year-old is leaving Saxony again in the winter?

Benjamin Sesko is by no means satisfied with his working hours so far. The Slovenian has made 22 competitive appearances so far this season, but the new signing from RB Salzburg was only in the starting line-up six times. There is currently no getting past fellow striker Lois Openda for the 25-time national player.

According to “90min.com”, Sesko is therefore not averse to leaving RB Leipzig after just six months. The tall center forward should therefore be able to easily imagine a move to the Premier League. It goes on to say that three top clubs, Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC and Manchester United, are closely monitoring the 20-year-old’s development.

Will RB Leipzig lose Benjamin Sesko?

The report from the online portal also shows that the Red Bulls could also let their attacking talent go in the winter. Apparently there is a six-month loan with a subsequent obligation to buy. Sesko’s contract in Saxony actually runs until 2028.

The ideal case, according to “90min.com”, would be for the former Salzburg player to stay at RB Leipzig. To do this, the Bundesliga club apparently has to promise its attacker more playing time. Ultimately, Sesko wants to position himself for a regular place in the Slovenian national team at the 2024 European Championships.

If Leipzig’s efforts to keep Sesko with the reigning DFB Cup winners fail, there will be a transfer fee of around 50 million euros. However, it is doubtful whether a club from the island would pay such a fee for a reservist from a Bundesliga club.
