After two years in Eindhoven
Yvon Mvogo is leaving RB Leipzig for good after five rather unlucky years. The 28-year-old goalkeeper is moving to FC Lorient. The French first division presented the four-time Swiss national player on Wednesday evening, the contract on the west coast runs until June 30, 2024.
For the past two seasons, Mvogo had been on loan at PSV Eindhoven, where he was a regular in the first year but was replaced by Joël Drommel (25) last season. A total of 54 appearances for PSV compared to only 19 in the three previous years in Leipzig. Péter Gulácsi (32) will also be there in the future, which is why RB did not put any obstacles in the way of the Swiss.
“The project that FC Lorient offered me is very interesting. It is a great challenge to take part in this adventure. I am now looking forward to starting with Lorient, bringing my experience and helping the club achieve the goals that have been set,” Mvogo said of his move.
