RB Leipzig defeats BVB, VfB scores at FC Bayern, 1899 climbs to second place

Tel youngest Bayern goalscorer

With the return to the old RB joy of playing, Marco Rose woke up the ailing cup winner from Leipzig. The Bundesliga team from Saxony, who started the season poorly, impressed on Saturday against Borussia Dortmund in a 3-0 (2-0) win.

In front of 47,069 spectators in the sold-out Red Bull Arena, Willi Orban gave RB the lead after just six minutes, Dominik Szoboszlai (45th) increased with a long-range shot before substitute Amadou Haidara (84th) marked the final score. RB climbed to tenth place in the table with their second win. BVB fell back to fourth place.

2: 2 against VfB: Late penalty throws FC Bayern into crisis

Before the big Champions League evening against FC Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski, FC Bayern Munich finally slipped into the earnings crisis. The German series champions did not get more than 2: 2 (1: 0) against VfB Stuttgart. It was the third draw in a row. At least until Sunday evening, the Munich team replaced SC Freiburg at the top again – but that didn’t cause any joy in the sold-out Allianz Arena. Only the VfB fans celebrated there among the 75,000 spectators.

The teenagers Mathys Tel (36th minute), who is now the youngest Bayern goalscorer in Bundesliga history, and Jamal Musiala (60th) gave Bayern the lead twice. Substitute Chris Führich (57th) equalized for the courageous Stuttgart team. And in stoppage time, new signing Serhou Guirassy nervously converted a penalty kick he was responsible for and awarded after video evidence. The center forward had previously shot the bar with a crash (74th minute). In addition, VfB was denied a goal by Guirassy after video evidence (51st). Führich had tugged slightly on the national player’s shirt before his pass when he won the ball in a duel with Joshua Kimmich.

Hoffenheim stormed into second place with a win against Mainz

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim stormed into second place in the Bundesliga with a 4-1 (0-0) win against FSV Mainz 05, which had been decimated for a long time. Andrej Kramaric in the 53rd minute, Grischa Prömel (69th), Munas Dabbur (80th) and Pavel Kaderabek (90th + 2) scored the goals on Saturday in front of 20,114 spectators for the victory of coach André Breitenreiter’s team, which now has twelve points in the account. Dominik Kohr (83rd) scored for the guests.

VfL Wolfsburg celebrate their first win of the season at Eintracht Frankfurt

Coach Niko Kovac managed to break free with VfL Wolfsburg at his former place of work. The Lower Saxony achieved their first win of the season in the Bundesliga with a 1-0 (0-0) win at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. Maxence Lacroix (60th minute) scored the goal of the day in front of 49,000 spectators. Kovac saved Eintracht from relegation in 2016 and led them to cup victory in 2018.

The upward trend of Eintracht in the Bundesliga after the last two wins has been stopped. At the same time, after the false start in the Champions League against Sporting Lisbon (0: 3), the Frankfurt pros could not gain self-confidence for the next international task: on Tuesday the premier class against Olympique Marseille continues.

No liberation in Berlin: Bayer 2: 2 at Hertha

Even a magic free-kick from Kerem Demirbay didn’t help Bayer Leverkusen out of the earnings crisis. At Hertha BSC, the Werkself did not get more than 2: 2 (0: 0) and is stuck with four points in the bottom of the table. The difficult situation has hardly improved for coach Gerardo Seoane – and on Tuesday Atlético Madrid come to the BayArena as a much bigger indicator in the Champions League.

Demirbay’s (49th minute) goal, which is well worth seeing, was quickly equalized by Suat Serdar (55th). After Marco Richter’s (74th) wonderful goal from a good 25 meters to put Hertha ahead, Patrik Schick (79th) equalized again for Bayer in an entertaining game. The Berliners missed their first home win of the season in front of 40,643 spectators in the Olympic Stadium, but continued their consolidation course with five points. The next task is piquant for coach Sandro Schwarz: on Friday he goes to his former club Mainz 05.
