Raw Air: Geiger not in top ten in qualifying – ski jumping – winter sports

All DSV-Adler qualified

Constantin Schmid provided a little surprise. The Bavarian sailed 131.5 meters and was the fifth best German ski jumper in the qualification.

Severin Freund (127 meters / 20th place), Stefan Leyhe (117 meters / 46th place) and Andreas Wellinger as 50th (120.5 meters) made it into the final. Wellinger came on for Pius Paschke, who didn’t make it into the second round seven times in a row.

Forfang uses better thermals

The winner of the qualification was Johann André Forfang. The Norwegian jumped 137 meters in daylight and in significantly better conditions. Second was the Austrian Stefan Kraft (131 meters) ahead of his compatriot Manuel Fettner (136 meters)

The results of the qualification are included in the overall result.

Shortened Raw Air Tour

After the early cancellation in 2020 and the compulsory Corona break last winter, the Raw Air Tour is back this year. The ski jumpers can expect a total of four competitions and three qualifications in the shortened version of the tour. Trondheim and Vikersund are not on the tour program this year. In Trondheim the hill is being renovated, in Vikersund the Ski Flying World Championships will take place next weekend. The prize money is 60,000 euros.

No Russian jumpers at the start

Russian athletes are not on the Raw tour. Out of solidarity with Ukraine, the World Ski Federation FIS has excluded Russian and Belarusian athletes from the rest of the World Cup season.
