After the giant rave with an estimated 200,000 people at the weekend, the Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR) collected 135 cubic meters of waste.
By Sunday morning, 100 employees and 46 vehicles had been deployed to clean up after the “Rave The Planet” music parade, the BSR announced on Monday on request.
Accordingly, packaging such as beverage cartons and glass were mainly collected. 135 cubic meters correspond to 135,000 liters. For comparison: At Christopher Street Day last year with around 65,000 people, the BSR says it collected 80 cubic meters of waste.
The techno spectacle by Loveparade founder Dr. On Saturday, Motte had attracted around ten times as many people as were registered for the demonstration. They celebrated and danced for hours alongside 18 music floats on a route from the west of the city center past Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburg Gate to the Victory Column.
The organizers want to take stock of the parade on Tuesday. The police had said on Sunday that the move was “largely trouble-free”. In the end, however, the Straße des 17. Juni became so crowded that “dangerous situations” arose.
