This morning a motorist caused havoc on the Meerweg between Paterswolde and Haren. By hitting a lamppost and a traffic sign head-on, the road was littered with debris.
The police, ambulance and fire brigade rushed to the accident. The driver was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The car sustained extensive damage to the front and roof as a result of the collisions.
The Meerweg, also known as the N861, was temporarily closed due to the accident. In addition to the debris, there was also an oil trail on the asphalt.
