The series about Mildred Ratched
How can we forget Mildred Ratched, the famous nurse-antagonist of One flew over the cuckoo’s nest From an iconic character of American cinema (and before that, of literature), the prequel to Milos Forman’s film develops. In the role of Louise Fletcher we find here Sarah Paulson, at ease in a role that ranges from dramatic to romantic, from horror to that of the cold machinist. The events of the series take place in 1947, fifteen years before the events told by the book and the film.
The trigger is very violent, with a young vagabond who kills four priests in a luxurious convent; this is followed by the entry onto the scene of the Ratched, who manages to get hired at a California psychiatric clinic, directed by the visionary and disturbing Dr. Richard Hanover. The life of the clinic and the relationships between the characters hide dark secrets that the series unfolds little by little, letting the tension settle.
From such a master as Ryan Murphy thus we witness an intricate articulation of plots in the background of a well-kept and sparkling scenographyAnd. Also in the cast unsettling Sharon Stonein the role of an eccentric billionaire who will soon come into contact with the protagonist. For those who love thrillers in which implicit and manifest violence mingle with each other.
