The group that owns the blue and white team admits to having received many inquiries from investors in recent years

The main problem lies in the amount demanded by Chen Yansheng, which in no case will be less than 200 million euros.

Ownership of RCD Espanyol could change hands. The sale of the club is a possibility that has been on the table for some time, and now these rumors are recognized by authorized voices from Rastar Group, the owner of the blue and white entity.

As the specialized media ‘El Economista’ has advanced,Analysts have asked on the Shenzhen stock exchange if Rastar was considering getting rid of Espanyol. The response, issued by a representative of the organization, has been that “the club has received many queries in recent years”, in addition to recognizing that “objective judgments will be analyzed and made” about the proposals.

Despite there being various proposals, these have never come to fruition. The main reason is the economic quantity demanded by Chen Yansheng, which reached 300 million. These claims have dropped but, according to the aforementioned media, in no case will Espanyol be sold for an amount less than 200 million, the estimated amount that Rastar has invested in the club.

Besides, The club’s sporting situation also represents an impediment. The blue and white team currently plays in the Second Division, a fact that reduces the interest of potential investors. Furthermore, Espanyol has accumulated three consecutive losses.

If we refer to the most recent examples of Second Resignation team purchases, Chen’s claims are far from average. Ronaldo Nazario acquired Real Valladolid for 25 million euros, while Jorge Mas spent 21 million to buy Real Zaragoza.
