Journalist Julie Robenhymer talks about her career, the Yankees ’relationship with the World Cup, and her chicken wing experiences.
NHL star Rasmus Ristolainen27, was advertised by a U.S. reporter To Julie Robenhymer41, recently that Finland is a land of chicken wings.
When Robenhymer arrived on a business trip to the World Championships, he asked Ristolainen for restaurant recommendations.
Ristolainen told the reporter to go to Hook Restaurant and Siipiweikko.
Robenhymer was severely disappointed when he dined at Hook in Helsinki.
– If I like appetizers more than the food the restaurant is known for, that’s a problem. I loved Hook’s mushroom appetizer, but the Wings were at most voc, Robenhymer says.
In Tampere, he decided to give Hook a second chance.
– No no no! It was a big disappointment.
Ristolainen’s hit accuracy was 50 percent.

The World Cup in Finland is the eighth World Championship gig in the US journalist’s career. For the first few years, the woman worked as a freelance journalist, but more recently she has worked full-time on the Eliteprospects website.
The American is known in his home country for his success in beauty pageants. She is the 2005 Miss New Jersey, and the following year she competed in the Miss America contest.
– I loved them. Miss competitions provided experience and learning who you are. I wish everyone had the opportunity to do the same. I learned a lot about myself, my pressure tolerance, how I can improve the world, and how I develop my habits as well as my social abilities.
Robenhymer wanted to be a reporter when he was in high school.
– My teacher asked what profession I would enjoy. I said if I make money by watching hockey, that’s it.
The woman says the pen stayed in her hand already in elementary school.
– I was a really good writer and storyteller, so I went to study journalism and sports marketing. When I graduated, my goal was to never write game stuff, but personal stuff. I want to tell you what types of players are out of the ice. Now I do what I love.
Robenhymer lives in New Jersey. She has no children and is not in a relationship.

Robenhymer knows the US World Cup team very closely, of course.
– The team is very interesting. Not the kind that is usually brought to the World Cup. There have been mostly players who are just breaking through in the NHL.
The Yankees have played a fresh start in the Finnish tournament. If they had had six defenders in the game in the semi-finals of the World Cup instead of four, the result could well have been different from Finland’s 4–3 victory.
– All US players have lost their season, so it would be easy to maintain a losing mood at the World Cup. When there are a lot of young players on a team, they bring positive energy.
U.S. players made no secret of the fact that the first week of the race is taken lightly: getting to know the others, going for a beer and eating wildly.
– Is this a European holiday for them? I would not say so, but it is a big deal to come here to Europe. Traveling here is fun and exciting. There is a different culture and a different food. It’s just smart for them to enjoy their lives here within the limits possible. But they are professionals and know what they are doing, Robenhymer comments and adds.
– For me, too, this is interesting when there are new countries, cities and cultures.
Mickey Mouse
In the United States, the World Championships in hockey are of interest to Mickey Mouse, the journalist admits.
– World Cup games are in the US for awkward TV viewing. We do not have international tournaments, nor is there such a national team culture as in Europe. We only have the Olympics. We have the best players playing in our backyards for a long NHL season. That’s why fans haven’t embraced the World Cup, the woman analyzes.
– Of course, your own national team is supported, but if it is lost, it is not a big deal. Fans will offset it by not having the best players in the world in the tournament, the reporter continues.
The topic of the World Cup tournament has been Finland’s boring way of playing.
– Finland has been playing this way for years – and it has been a really successful way. If, as a coach, you didn’t come up with a break in Finland’s defense, it’s weird. If you ask the Finnish audience about the way the game is played, few people find it boring.
Robenhymer has been struck by the fact that Finnish NHL players play a different game in Leijon than behind raccoon.
– Finland has a lot of great players in the NHL, but they don’t play great hockey on the national team. But on the national team, they have found a winning strategy. In Finland, I value commitment to a common cause the most: either you are fully involved and play according to strategy, or you are not on the team.
