A 29-year-old driver sped away from the police in Charlottenburg and narrowly avoided collisions with other cars several times.
Finally, his vehicle collided with a stopping car, the police said on Tuesday. Both vehicles were severely damaged, but no one was injured. The 29-year-old’s car and driver’s license were confiscated.
The driver and his two passengers then wanted to walk away. The police officers were able to stop two of the three men: the 29-year-old and a 28-year-old passenger. “An atypical amount of cell phones, cash and narcotics were found on both men,” it said.
The driver was noticed on Monday afternoon with his car by a civil patrol in Charlottenburg. He had left the city highway at the Jakob-Kaiser-Platz junction, passed a red traffic light shortly afterwards and was traveling a lot too fast, the police said. When the officers drew attention to themselves with blue lights and sirens, he accelerated and fled.
