Rare tumor affects Suzan (14): “Research into childhood cancer is not very innovative”

One child in 100 adults will develop cancer. Childhood cancers are rare and therefore receive too little attention. “While the survival rate among adults increased by 8 percent, little progress has been made for children,” says pediatric oncologist Bram De Wilde (UZ Ghent). What’s more: since 2007, 200 new cancer drugs have been approved for adults, but only… 16 for children.
