In a new one Interview for “Interview Magazine” conducted by Donald Glover on himself, he compares himself to Radiohead – or one of his albums to one of the British bands. His 2013 record BECAUSE THE INTERNET is “rap’s OK COMPUTER,” according to Glover aka Childish Gambino.

How did he come up with this comparison? Glover says: Poor reviews of his debut album CAMP led him to the success of BECAUSE THE INTERNET. Only this reception allowed him to make that second record, “which proved itself to be a classic”. BECAUSE THE INTERNET was forward-thinking in its sound and content and extremely influential. “And I know that no one can take that away from me until I die. It’s true.”

As the story progressed, Glover asked himself why he wanted to be interviewed by himself. He replies: “I don’t like interviews and I wondered why that is. The questions are usually always the same. That way I get asked questions that I don’t normally hear.”

Musician, actor, comedian, director and producer Donald Glover has released four albums under his stage name Childish Gambino. The current 3.15.20 was released in 2020. A successor has not yet been announced. Glover can currently be seen in the third season of the series “Atlanta”.

Radiohead’s third and most important album OK COMPUTER was released in 1997. It is considered a classic of British rock music and marks the beginning of a new sound for the band.
