Rapper Sexmane performed at the Himos midsummer festival on Saturday.
The wait of the Midsummer festival crowd in Himos was rewarded on Saturday evening, when rapper Sexmane, 22, took to the main stage of the event. The artist was received with high-pitched squeals and raucous screams.
It’s no wonder, because Sexmane has great stage charisma.
The Siilinjärve rapper with a Lestadio background offered the midsummer audience a boisterous performance accompanied by an electric guitar. During the performance, a large moshpit was opened in the middle of the audience, people squatted on the ground and raised their hands in the air. At the end of the gig, the decibels got confusingly high at Himos, when the rapper pulled the audience in the middle of a shouting match.
– Everyone puts their hands in the air! Put a sack! Järkkäriki should be put on or else it won’t continue, the rapper urged from the stage.

A concert as inclusive as this is a downright rare treat. Himos didn’t show the same kind of interactivity with the audience in between spikes. Even after the performance, the rapper stayed with the front row to take group photos and chat with the festival-goers.
Sexmane told Iltalehte after the gig that money or fame are only secondary things for him in artistry. He primarily wants to come to his gigs to have fun with his audience.
– Even through my speeches, I want to tell the audience that I’m just another entertainer in their circle of friends. I’d rather be like that than someone who is looked up to terribly, Sexmane commented to Iltalehte after the gig.

In Sexmane’s hit song Vibes the former prime minister of Finland Sanna Marin and the current speaker of the parliament Jussi Halla-Aho are mentioned.
– Lameboy, Fabe, Sexmane, grr, YB, Sanna Marin, Sanna Marin, Let’s go, Fiilis ku Jussi Halla-aho, Fiilis ku Sanna Marin, the song sings.
Sexmane does not want to take a stand on politics, but gave his greetings to the former prime minister in an interview with Iltalehti. The video of the interview is at the beginning of the article.
In his opinion, Sexmane is not a political rapper. He says he has no plans to write more songs about other politicians, but doesn’t rule out the idea either.
– I don’t know, let’s disappear! Maybe to my liking, if you like them, the rapper laughed at Iltalehti’s reporter at the end of the interview.
Sexmane’s most famous songs include, among others 40K, Chill bro and And we matador.
