Munich rapper Ebow has released the fourth single from her upcoming album CANÊ. The new track is called “Trouble”, was produced by Walter p99 arke$tra and is about love. So it’s extremely fitting that the release date falls on this year’s Valentine’s Day. But as the title of the track might already suggest, it’s not about having the first butterflies in your stomach. Ebow deals with a relationship problem that primarily deals with the relationship between closeness and distance. See and hear her new single streamed here:
The Kurdish word “Canê” means something like “darling” or “soul”. And that’s what Ebow’s new album should be about. The Kurdish-born rapper wants to shed light on parts and contradictions of her identity as well as her own emotional life. Political themes and partly paradoxical phenomena of our society should also find their place on the album.
The album CANÊ is scheduled for release on March 18, 2022. Ebow has released three studio albums so far. She released her first in 2013 under the eponymous title EBOW. This was followed by COMPLEXITY in 2017 and K4L in 2019. In her lyrics, Ebow deals primarily with topics such as feminism, integration or political self-determination. Apparently she has a soft spot for certain holidays: Ebow released a new single for Valentine’s Day 2021.
