German rapper Casper (39) is again in the mood for concerts and nightlife.
“I need acceleration,” said the hip-hop musician from East Westphalia in an interview with the German Press Agency in Berlin. “I want to land again at 3 am somewhere I didn’t think I’d land and make a bad decision and have a hangover the next day.”
As with many people, the corona pandemic has put the musician’s life on pause. “I celebrated this deceleration and also wrote my record during this time,” says Casper.
Eventually, though, the turning point came: “I want to explode again, I want sweat dripping off the ceiling and be in a tight, sweaty space again and not have to feel weird about it.”

At the same time, he was very nervous as potential live performances approached. “I’m always a lot more stage frightened than usual now,” says the rapper. “It’s a bit like if you haven’t been on a bike for ten years.” The first five steps may be shaky, but of course you don’t forget it.
“It will feel like the very first concert again, I think,” says Casper. A tour in May, November and December 2022 is planned with his new album “Alles war schön und nicht tat weh” (release: February 25).
