Rapper bbno$ announces new album BAG OR DIE

Canadian rapper Alexander Leon Gumuchian aka bbno$ – read: Baby No Money – is back with a new album. BAG OR DIE is scheduled for release on October 21st. With the single “Sophisticated” he provides a first foretaste.

bbno$ is a trained kinesiologist and former competitive swimmer. He is best known for his collaborations with rapper Yung Gravy and for his 2019 single “Lalala” with producer Y2K, which has reached over 800 million plays on the Spotify streaming service. He was already among the top 100 most streamed Spotify artists worldwide.

“I wore diapers for my art”

The single “Sophisticated” was released on August 19th. With the song, the rapper euphorizes his own life and presents his personal definition of lifestyle and taste. He raps about owning all the material things and being literally demanding. Just before the chorus begins, he raps:

“I’m the window-shopping guy at Tiffany’s/I’m the guy who keeps watching ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’/I eat very well on parables and epiphanies/Tour of the world arena, shows thirty plays, that is a symphony.”

Speaking of his new album, he explains: “For my art I’ve worn diapers, armor, dressed in drag and haven’t taken off a pink wool hat for years, but sometimes you just want to appear sophisticated. This song and video makes me feel myself and I think it pops.”

His music is “ignorant but melodic”

BAG OR DIE is bbno$’s seventh record. The title is a reference to 50 Cent’s album GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN’. He himself describes his music as “ignorant but melodic”. She also represents “the ethos of bbno$”: “Enjoy it, it almost killed me,” he proclaims.
