Raoul Heertje actually had the idea to vote for Pieter Omtzigt, but he says he has only now discovered that he is a right-wing conservative. “I’m just angry.”
He has a very prominent role in the current series of election broadcasts by Khalid & Sophie: none other than comedian Raoul Heertje. Every day he can express his opinion about politics at the talk show table and at the end he has to say who he is going to vote for. But for now the comedian is not sure about that.
Raoul is angry
In any case, it will not be Pieter Omtzigt, says Raoul in the Khalid & Sophie by yesterday evening. “I actually found out today: I’m a little angry… Well, not angry, I’ve just been lazy. I actually had it in my head, I noticed, that Omtzigt was the right plan B.”
He continues: “I had in my head: if I really don’t know anymore, then at a certain point I’ll just say: ‘I’ll go to plan B, because Omtzigt is good anyway, it’s reliable.’ And then I heard who he wants to do business with and then I thought: yes, I actually don’t know anything about this gentleman.”
Robber
Raoul is disappointed. “I only know that he is a hero, because he stood up to all kinds of people and arranged that benefits affair, but I don’t really know anything else. The laziness is that I thought that hero story was enough, but yes, it could also be that someone helps an old lady cross the road and then walks to the jeweler and robs him.”
He continues: “This is not a statement about Omtzigt, but I mean that my laziness is that I don’t see that those two things can go together. Then today I went to check what this party does and wants and that didn’t really make me very enthusiastic.”
VVD and Wilders
According to Raoul, Omtzigt’s plans are unrealistic. “I come across two things: that he is very concerned with rules. Creating rules and new institutions takes a lot of time and the problems continue.”
Moreover, he is too right-wing, the comedian concludes. “What he wants with the climate, women and abortion… It’s roughly between VVD and Wilders, so I understand that he really wants to do it with those parties, but I’m done with it straight away. I’m back to zero.”
