In full Bolívar de Ramos Mejía street, in a small place with a glass front, you access an unexpected world. As soon as you enter it becomes clear what it is about: there is a blong, well-lit and stocked area, full of decorative details, many of them objects from the homeowner, Richard Sederowhich takes hospitality very seriously Hugo Bar. Towards the back is the living room, with its nooks and crannies, a small internal patio, and another larger patio, all with a special atmosphere provided by the lighting and decoration, minimalist but forceful.

“It ends when it ends” -says a sign and, yes, to begin with, the atmosphere is inviting. In the reality of Telefé, The Great BartenderSedero was able to demonstrate his passion and talent for cocktails.

The bar menu details the style of each cocktail, allowing you to choose without making mistakes. There are sweet and fruity ones like Champeta Rosa, with Campari, strawberry, lemon and sparkling wine; herbaceous and citrus like This is That, with Bourbon, Aperol, ginger and grapefruit; and acidic and floral like Vino bien, with vodka, white vermouth, green apple and elderberry.

Both the white vermouth (based on Torrontés, citrus and fruity) and the rosé (based on Malbec with 12 botanicals), are made in-house under the La Fenice brand, and we recommend taking a souvenir bottle because they are subtle, balanced and very seating for summer.

To eat there is a good selection of small dishes. The classics of the house are the fried meat empanada with llasjua sauce (like in Salta); spinach fritters with zucchini and corn with yogurt sauce; and the pulled pork, a bondiola sandwich deglazed in vermouth with melted cheese on brioche bread.

There is also a good vitel toné and dishes of varied inspirations such as shawarma, lajmayin (typical open pie of Middle Eastern cuisine) and potato churritos, with Sriracha mayonnaise (spicy), jalapeño and dill pickles, among others. . There are also desserts, including the delicious Devil’s Cake, made of cocoa with rum and chocolate cream.
