Despite – or because of? – the allegations of alleged abusive behavior by Till Lindemann are in the charts of (09 June) three Rammstein albums in the German top 100. The current work “Zeit” has risen from 32 to 29 (since 58 weeks in the charts ), the previously published work “Rammstein” (for 201 weeks) even climbed from 71 to 52. the 2001 record “Mutter” (charts since 141) with hits like “Links 2 3 4” made the biggest leap forward: from 91 to 63.
The new full-length charts will be published on Friday afternoon. The anniversary edition of “Longing” was released the previous Friday. It will soon become clear where this record will be found in the upcoming ranking.
As the “FAZ” also reports, market leader Universal Music has made representations to the German music industry association BVMI. The company’s label, with which Rammstein is under contract, expressly and on behalf of the band wanted a newly released and potentially commercially successful album not to be listed in the charts. Universal had previously announced that it would pause cooperation with the band until allegations of abuse were resolved.
The band’s popularity continues unabated. As surveys show, the number of their Instagram followers is increasing, as is the number of regular Rammstein hits played on Spotify. The estimated earnings from sales of all kinds are also immense.
