Iris Spranger, Senator for the Interior of Berlin, announced on Monday (June 12) that there will be no Rammstein after-show parties in Berlin. The allegations of abuse against singer Till Lindemann are so serious that Spranger “gave absolute priority to the protection and safety of women” and they therefore “stopped the rental contracts that were due for the after-show parties,” as the SPD politician in the Interior Committee of the House of Representatives said.
According to media reports, there should be two areas in the areas of the Olympic Park and the Olympic Pool. Both locations are close to the Olympic Stadium, where the Rammstein concerts will be held on July 15th and 16th.
Already on June 7, Spranger announced that he wanted to ban the parties. “We have to wait for the investigations, but the allegations weigh so heavily,” said the Senate Department for the Interior and Sport on Twitter.
Berlin’s Senator for Culture, Joe Chialo (CDU), previously said that there was no “legal lever” to ban the Rammstein shows. Spranger also came to this conclusion: “I cannot ban the concerts as such, it is not in my sovereignty,” she said.
