Rally car driver Roope Korhonen25, had to retire from the final round of the Italian Rally Series at Monza.

The race on the iconic Monza motor track and its surroundings turned into a real farce when the torrential rain made the sections impassable. Only half of the teams made it to the finish line.

Korhonen stopped the rally after six special tests. At that point, he was at the top of his own racing class.

– The car started making such a noise that we decided to leave the game. There was really no point in going any further. The roads are in terrible condition and the same roads are only driven over again, the Finnish promise wondered in a video he published on Facebook.

According to Korhonen, about five drivers in his class had their engine break down when it let water or oil out.

– It doesn’t really serve anything to drive there in the mud for twenty-somethings and destroy the car. Such a rally this time. A little different trip, he said.

Korhonen also fell victim to strange circumstances in October at the Central European World Rally Championship, when the license plates of his WRC2 car had expired and the race was abandoned.

At the time, the Italian team BMP was responsible for the car. The team was threatened with fines and punishment from the Italian Automobile Federation.
