Former Eredivisie player Ralf Seuntjens has a tumor discovered in his shoulder. Because of that diagnosis, the 33-year-old striker, who recently exchanged NAC Breda for the Japanese FC Imabari, returned to the Netherlands.
“I went to the hospital in Japan with a shoulder injury and the results of the CT scan completely turned the lives of my loved ones and myself upside down,” Seuntjens wrote on Thursday. Instagram†
“A tumor has been found and I was already in the hospital in the Netherlands yesterday to start a process as soon as possible. I want to leave it at that for now.”
At the end of March, Seuntjens exchanged NAC Breda for FC Imabari, his first foreign adventure. He has played three matches for the club, which is active at the third Japanese level. In his last game for the time being, he scored his first goal for Imabari.
Before his short period at NAC in his hometown of Breda – he only played there since the beginning of this season – Seuntjens played successively for RBC Roosendaal, FC Den Bosch, Telstar, VVV-Venlo and De Graafschap.
His contract with Imabari runs until January 2024. Seuntjens thanks the club via Instagram for the support he has received since the tumor was discovered.
