Rain continues, with occasional moments of sunshine

It starts out dry in most places today, but it will rain again later today. Although the sun sometimes appears, NH weatherman Jan Visser also expects a lot of rain for the rest of the week.

It has rained a lot lately and it will be quite changeable in the coming days. The day starts dry in parts of the province, but in the north there are some showers and the wind is blowing hard. “Showers may also develop elsewhere in the province this afternoon and evening,” Visser predicts. “Possibly with thunder and hail.” Every now and then the sun also makes an appearance. It will be about 13 degrees today, not cold for this time of year.

Tomorrow it will be a little colder at 11 degrees. “There will be showers again tomorrow,” says Visser. “Also occasionally sun.” It can once again be quite windy on the coast and IJsselmeer.

More rain

Jan Visser himself quite likes rain, but it also takes too long. “Things seem to be improving on Thursday,” he says. “That is still uncertain on Friday. The next disruption is coming across the south of England.”

The weather is not going to improve any time soon. “Over the weekend it will be 13 degrees and then the chances of rain will increase again,” says the weatherman. “And possibly a lot of rain on Monday.” According to him, it goes a bit ‘up and down’ because there is a lot of cold in the north of Europe, but in the south it is very warm. “It is precisely in the transition area that faults are constantly developing.”

Busy on the road

Rijkswaterstaat expects rainy weather this evening a very heavy evening rush hour. This means that around 600 kilometers of traffic jams are expected throughout the country. “Mainly around the big cities and at the well-known junctions,” Rijkswaterstaat writes on the website.
