A fire broke out at a quarter to twelve on Sunday morning in a flat on Weilustlaan in Breda. Flames shot from an apartment. Explosions were also heard, a spokesperson for the security region reported.
The fire was under control around a quarter past twelve, the spokesman for the security region said. Then there were no more flames from the apartment.
A dog that was in the burning apartment is unharmed. “The animal had fled to the neighbors itself and was brought to safety there.”

According to the spokesperson for the security region, there is a lot of smoke in the complex. The fire brigade will ventilate the building and make an inventory of the damage.
Several apartments on the ninth and tenth floors have been evacuated. Those residents are outside. According to the 112 correspondent, it concerns several dozen people. Two people were treated by paramedics.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
