On April 20, “Flashdance” will be re-released as a 4K UHD Blu-Ray for the 40th anniversary in a limited steel book. The film based on the story of Alexandra “Alex” Owens (Jennifer Beals) was released in 1983. A classic and iconic moment of 80’s pop culture directed by Adrian Lynes. Owens is a welder by day and a bar dancer by night, and dreams of her chance to start her own business by getting into a dance conservatory.
“Flashdance” is celebrated above all for its music. In 1984, Irene Cara received the Oscars in the category “Best Song” for the soundtrack title “Flashdance … What a Feeling”. Michael Sembello “Maniac” was also nominated.
