Rafael van der Vaart faces first job as head coach in Denmark

Rafael van der Vaart helps his old club Esbjerg fB. The Danish football club put the trainer on the street and the 39-year-old Heemskerker is now temporarily in charge of the first divisionist together with Michael Kryger.

After the resignation of head coach Roland Vrabec, the Danish club was without a trainer. Van der Vaart will do the honors at Esbjerg until a successor is found for Vrabec.

Sports have been bad at Esbjerg in recent weeks. The club, which plays at the second level in Denmark, has lost four of its last five matches. As a result, promotion seems to be a difficult story.

The former football player of, among others, Ajax, Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and the Dutch national team played at Esbjerg fB in the twilight of his career.
