Radio silence between FC Bayern and Leroy Sané

Leroy Sané has been in poor form at FC Bayern since the turn of the year. To make matters worse, there are now increasing signs that there could possibly be a separation between the 28-year-old national player and the German record champions in the summer.

According to a current “kicker” report, there are still no concrete contract discussions with Sané on Säbener Straße. As a reminder, his contract expires in 2025. By next summer at the latest, FC Bayern would have to make a fundamental decision as to whether they want to continue working with the winger or let him go in order to generate an adequate transfer fee.

The second option appears to be well within the realm of possibility. Sané’s name has been mentioned again and again recently in connection with potential shaky candidates who could leave the club as part of the squad shake-up planned for the new season.

Background: Sané is one of FC Bayern’s top earners with around 20 million euros per year and would reportedly like to sign a new four or five-year contract with the same salary. For the Munich-based company, it’s about a total package of up to 100 million euros.

How valuable is Leroy Sané for FC Bayern?

Above all, the question of Sané’s sporting value hovers. Since FC Bayern signed him from Manchester City for almost 50 million euros in 2020, the former Schalke player has alternated strong phases with periods of weakness.

It is also clear that Sané will no longer be a leader who carries his teammates along in difficult situations.

If there are actually signs of a change of scenery for the Essen native, a possible new club would have to dig deep into its pockets: Despite his ongoing fluctuations in form, Sané’s market value is currently estimated at a whopping 80 million euros.
