Those responsible for the second division soccer team Hansa Rostock have apologized to Kaiserslautern’s striker Terrence Boyd after verbal hostility from a fan.

“Thank you very much for that and I told him that with fan violence it can always be the case that there are isolated people/activities that do not represent the club’s values,” Boyd wrote on Twitter after a call from Rostock’s CEO Robert Marien.

Boyd had scored both goals in FCK’s 2-0 win in Rostock on Friday evening. After his second goal, the 31-year-old was loudly racially insulted by a person from the Hansa block, which can also be heard on the Sky broadcast.

“It’s always easier to destroy than to build up. Something like that is difficult to prevent with thousands of visitors and can happen anywhere. For me, that’s the end of it and I wish Hansa Rostock all the best,” Boyd wrote.
