Racing Genk distances itself from efficient KV Kortrijk with a penalty goal

Thanks to the economical victory with 28 points, Genk is again within 2 points of leader Antwerp. Kortrijk continues to dangle at the bottom, in fourteenth place with 10 points.

Paul Onuachu (37′) broke the spell in the Cegeka Arena with the break in sight by heading the ball through the ground against the nets. Genk forgot to extend his lead after the break and was surprised by a beautiful goal by Faïz Selemani (58′) on a free kick: he nailed the ball nicely into the top left corner. The Limburgers were awarded a penalty in the final quarter after a handball. Onuachu (79′) remained cool and sent Marko Ilic the wrong way. In stoppage time, substitute Pape Habib Gueye missed the equalizer.
