Rachel Zegler defends Taylor Swift after sex tape comments

“You will never see people talk about a man like that,” Zegler said of the comment.

Rachel Zegler defended Taylor Swift after a comment on a podcast about her alleged relationship with football player Travis Kelce. The rumor that the two were in a relationship was addressed by Dan Katz, co-host of the “Pardon My Take” podcast. “If Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift release a sex tape, I will consummate this relationship and say, ‘Good.'”

Through X, Zegler was critical of the comment. “It’s nothing new for the media to be particularly (and unjustifiably) cruel to Taylor Swift,” she said. “But the way men feel entitled to talk about women, their bodies and their sex lives needs serious scrutiny.”

Zegler continues: “You’ll never see people talk about a man like that. This applies to many different scenarios. We don’t pick apart men’s attitudes and relationships like we do women’s. It’s not always just men who talk about us like that. Women can and do do that too. It’s absolutely sickening. Leave Taylor Swift alone!”

She also criticizes those who dismiss such comments as jokes. “It’s often said that it’s a joke, but you have to understand that since the beginning of time, ‘no one understands jokes anymore’ has been synonymous with ‘let me say something terrible about women without facing the consequences.’ We’re tired of it! That was never funny!”
