Rachel Hazes has appealed a case she has brought against her former business partners. Rachel wants the court to hear her daughter Roxeanne Hazes and the former business partners about more than just paying an invoice.
Royce de Vries, the lawyer who assists Rachel, confirms this after previous reports from Yvonne Coldeweijer. The Amsterdam court ruled in June that Rachel could only hear her former business partners Marieke van Beek and Rob Israël and Roxeanne about the payment of a 24,000 euro invoice for a coaching program she has followed. The court rejected the rest of Rachel’s request because she would have no interest in. It is not yet known when the appeal will be lodged, says De Vries.
Rachel claims her interests were not properly represented after she suffered a breakdown and gave people powers of attorney to act on her behalf in 2016. Rachel appointed three people, including former business partners Van Beek and Israel. Through the power of attorney, which lasted until the beginning of 2018, ‘business’ could continue during that period, Rachel’s lawyer Royce de Vries stated in April. But the power of attorney has been ‘misused’, said De Vries. The proxies would have ‘enriched’ themselves, according to the lawyer.
Israel called those claims “shocking” at the time and Van Beek also disagrees with the allegations against her. Roxeanne gave a written statement in April that the trustees had assisted Rachel for “years” and helped “day and night”. She called her mother’s statement “absurd.” Roxeanne has previously stated several times that she does not want to testify in the case in order to “not further damage the reputation” of her mother.
Rachel and Roxeanne Hazes have not had contact with each other for years. Roxeanne doesn’t need this. The singer will also not participating at the Holland Zingt Hazes concerts.
