Race at Imola remains on the Formula 1 calendar | 1Limburg

Max Verstappen will continue to travel to Imola in the coming years. The Formula 1 drivers will certainly race at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari until 2025.

The leadership of the main racing class for cars reached an agreement with the Italians on Monday.

Two races during corona
Imola, a city in the Emilia-Romagna region, hosted a Formula 1 race for the first time in 1980. Until 2006, there were 27 competitions. Imola returned to the calendar in 2020 due to the corona crisis. Formula 1 also used the circuit last year. Then Verstappen took the win during the second game of the season.

“The circuit is iconic and part of the history of our sport. The organizers have done a fantastic job organizing two races during the corona pandemic,” said Formula 1 director Stefano Domenicali.

Start of Formula 1 season
The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix is ​​circled in red on the calendar on Sunday 24 April. With 23 races on the clock, if the canceled Russian GP is replaced by another, the Limburger will defend his world title. The Formula 1 season will kick off next week: the first Grand Prix will take place in Bahrain on Sunday 20 March.
