Rabanne launches digital art competition

The French fashion house Rabanne is launching the “Rabanne Arts Factory” talent competition together with the British magazine Dazed.

The competition is aimed at young people who want to shape “an inclusive and creative future,” according to a statement from the label on Monday. In collaboration with the magazine, which was founded in 1991 and deals with the topics of music, fashion, art, culture and literature, the competition is intended to give the works of up-and-coming digital artists a platform.

Interested artists were able to submit their portfolios in an open call. Six selected participants will then be able to implement an artistic concept by Rabanne. A jury of industry experts evaluates the projects submitted by the six image designers. The winners get the opportunity to work together on a project with the fashion label.

The finished works of the participating artists will be presented via Rabanne’s social media platforms and in a digital hub. The final winners will then be announced in spring 2024. The fashion house also announced an event in London next spring where the participants’ projects will be shown in an immersive exhibition.

“Art has always been at the heart of the Rabanne DNA. This project builds on that legacy by celebrating and promoting a new way of creating images in digital space. In this way, the brand’s heritage is both honored and reinvented,” said Vincent Thilloy, CBO at Rabanne.

The fashion house celebrated its 60th anniversary this year and also changed as part of the anniversary celebrations and a realignment of the brand brand names
