Quinty Trustfull imposes itself on Victor Vlam: ‘Very annoying’

Quinty Trustfull has really forced himself on Victor Vlam and thus ruined a special photo moment for him. “I didn’t dare tell her to get out of the picture.”

The notorious opinion maker Victor Vlam was a guest at Koffietijd more than six years ago, where he was in one broadcast with Irene Moors. He was very pleased about that, because he is a big fan of hers. “I thought: I really want to have a selfie with Irene Moors. But what happened is actually quite annoying and embarrassing too.”

Quinty ruins everything

Victor tells in his podcast The Communicados that he was quite shy to ask Irene for a selfie. “I gather all my courage there to say: ‘Irene, can we please take a picture together?’ And Irene was of course very nice and immediately said: ‘Yes, of course we will, no problem.’”

You notice that Irene is a professional then, says Victor. “He immediately thought: if we stand there, we will have good light and all that sort of thing. The nice lady from the makeup artist took the picture. But just when we were ready to take the picture, Quinty Trustfull walks up and says: ‘Oh, you are taking the picture, I’ll be there for a while.’”

“Get out of the picture!”

It caused a lot of annoyance to Victor that Quinty forced himself on him in such a way. “It then appears on those photos and I’m like: I want a photo with Irene Moors, not with you. But yes, you’re not going to say that to a presenter of: ‘Joh, move come on, get out of this picture for a minute.’ So I didn’t dare say that.”

And then? “I thought to myself: well you know, I’ll cut Quinty out, you know. That’s what I thought then. And then after the photo is taken, Quinty says to me, “Oh, are you going to put it on Instagram?” And then I said, “Yes.” ‘Oh nice, tags me a minute, and I’ll follow you.’ So I think: ah, no. I was terribly disappointed about that.”

Plan in tatters

Victor’s plan fell apart as a result. “Because I think: if I cut her out, she’s following me now, then I’m in for a pile. And next week I would be in that program again, so I’ll see Quinty again. So then I’ll probably get on my lazer for cutting her out of that photo. So I thought to myself: yes, I can’t do anything else.”

He continues: “So I just reluctantly put that photo on Instagram the next day. Because I think: yes damn it, I wanted a picture with Irene Moors. Again, my childhood hero. I always watched Telekids. Picture ruined.”

Very embarrassing

Victor still thinks back on it regularly, for example about how he could have handled this better. “It’s very embarrassing. I am disappointed that I had not come up with anything better.”

“I should have said: nice to have a picture with both of you, can I also have one with you separately? Then no one was offended. Then I had a separate photo with Quinty. Yes, I don’t do anything with that. And that picture of Irene and me, I hang it above my bed. That’s something Quinty will never notice. I should have said that.”
