Quinten Timber exchanges FC Utrecht for Feyenoord. The Domstedelingen pay 8.5 million euros for the midfielder. With his transfer, the brother of Ajax defender Jurriën Timber is the most expensive outgoing transfer from Utrecht and the most expensive purchase ever from Feyenoord.
“It certainly feels familiar to be back here,” Timber says on the Feyenoord website. “When I drove to De Kuip, it felt like coming home. Feyenoord did its best to get me back and I’m happy about that. To be able to stand here again eight years after I left, in this stadium where the supporters transfer their energy to the team, is fantastic. I’m fit and I’m looking forward to training right away on Friday.”
Timber settled in the youth academy of Feyenoord in 2008. In 2014, the creative was picked up by Ajax, where he also made his debut in professional football. In 2018 Timber made his first minutes in the shirt of Jong Ajax. However, it did not come to a performance in the first team of the Amsterdammers, so that he landed at FC Utrecht in 2020.
