The new heat plan gives the police the opportunity to close the center for incoming traffic in the event of large crowds. But for the time being that measure remained in the cupboard. “We see a constant traffic flow from the A11, but it is going smoothly so far,” says chief of police Steve Desmet of the Damme/Knokke-Heist police zone. “We keep a close eye on the situation via our command room, where we monitor both traffic and the occupation of car parks.”
