Hustle and bustle around the A10 festival site is rapidly increasing: ‘No new visitors in certain zones’
The afternoon program of the festival on the Ring in Amsterdam started after 3 p.m. A spokesperson for the organization says that the outflow of visitors to the morning part went smoothly and the rows were “manageable”. Due to the warm weather, visitors to the afternoon program per person can take 1 liter extra water to the festival site. In total it concerns 2 liters per person.
At the end of the afternoon the crowds on the festival site on the A10 increase rapidly. It is full around the performances of Kriss Kross Amsterdam and Audio Obscura, the organization reports around 6 p.m. “The rest of the day no new visitors are admitted to these zones,” she says. “Visitors are referred to the sixteen other stages where there is still room.” Access to the S106 is closed.
The organization looks back on a “pleasantly busy” morning program. Even then it was “at times busy” at popular stages like that of Kris Kross Amsterdam at the S106. At those moments, visitors were led around the stage via the entrance and exit, according to the spokesperson.
A malfunction arose earlier in the day at three of the 344 water points on the festival site. According to the organization, this malfunction has since been remedied.

Just like in the morning, there are various activities on the West, South and East ring in the afternoon and evening where the festival takes place. For example, people at the Dolle Mina Experience on the Western A10 can put corset throw or the slogan in their own belly ‘on their stomachs, as the Feminist action group Dolle Mina did in 1970.
The Ring Oost is open for walkers from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Initially, visitors could also cycle there, but that part was deleted “so that there is more room for people who want to walk a bit over the car -free ring A10,” said the municipality of Amsterdam.
Halsema received a special rocket
Mayor Femke Halsema received the first “Festive Amsterdam 750 rocket” at the end of the afternoon. She called the special red-black ice cream “UNESCO worthy”.
