The activists protested against new gas drilling under the North Sea. They called on Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN), TNO and the Mijnraad ‘to advise negatively on all current and upcoming permit applications that threaten the Wad and the liveability of the earth’.
Eggs and stones
A group of around fifteen young people pelted the demonstrators with eggs and stones according to an present photographer. The protesters had therefore arranged a little backwards around 4 p.m. “We discuss what we are going to do,” the XR spokesperson reported.
The promotion was demolished around 4.30 pm. “Several people feel unsafe,” the spokesperson for XR explained. An estimated XR blocked around 150 people the way as a protest against gas drilling under the North Sea.
As far as we know, no one has been arrested for throwing things to the demonstrators. According to XR, it would be about both young people and adults. A police spokesman could not say why the police officers present have not seemed to have been intervened, only in general that action will be taken if necessary.
Truck tilted
Despite this early breaking of the promotion, it remained busy. By a tilted truck the N307 was closed. This was the circulation route for traffic that the Afsluitdijk participated, the accident caused a delay of an hour at the end of the afternoon.
