Director Quentin Tarantino can look forward to a second child. On July 3, his wife, Israeli singer Daniella Pick, gave birth to another son. According to a spokesman for Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, the mother and child are doing well. The little one’s name is still unknown.
Tel Aviv is now the couple’s main residence. Tarantino and Pick met there in 2009 at the film premiere of “Inglourious Basterds”. In November 2018, the couple married at their Beverly Hills home. The first son was born in Israel two years later – Leo was Tarantino’s first child.
“Has nothing to do with DiCaprio”
Speaking to talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, the director gave an insight into his life as a father for the first time. The 59-year-old stressed that his son’s name had nothing to do with Leonardo DiCaprio, with whom he worked on “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”.
He was named after my wife’s grandfather, but also because he was a little lion in our hearts,” Tarantino said. The upbringing is also very instructive for the father. “He watches these baby TV shows and they’re all in Hebrew. So I’m learning the “Sesame Street” version of the language,” he joked.
In June, Tarantino received an honorary doctorate from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem for his cinematic work. Works like “Reservoir Dogs” and “Pulp Fiction” made the director famous in the 90s, films like “Kill Bill” are considered iconic. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was released in 2019 and is his last film to date.
