Tina Turner’s death shocked the world in May of this year. The icon left behind a life’s work that few other artists can match. To celebrate the singer’s career, the single collection “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll” will be released on November 24th. The compilation’s 55 tracks include songs from her entire solo career. The set is released not only as a stream/download, but also as a 3-CD and 5LP set and as a reduced vinyl version with 12 tracks.
In addition to Tina Turner’s most successful singles – including “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, “We Don’t Need Another Hero”, “The Best” and “I Don’t Wanna Lose You” – the collection also includes duets with other artists :inside like David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart. In addition, the musician’s 1996 track “Something Beautiful Remains” was reworked by producer Terry Britten. A new version of the song, now titled “Something Beautiful,” will also be included in the set.
A foreword by Bryan Adams is included on all physical variants. “Tina changed the course of my life as I credit her with taking me from obscurity to the stages of the UK and Europe. I am so grateful that she shared some of her precious time with me. She was a force of nature, no one had her energy or her voice,” writes Turner’s long-time friend and creative partner. Finally, he alludes to his 1985 song with the singer: “It’s only love, and that’s all.”
