“Many thanks to Her Majesty The Queen for the continued support of Disaster Emergency Committee and for the generous donation to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal,” the organization wrote on Twitter.
War in Ukraine
At the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) fifteen British charities are involved that help if a country gets into a crisis, as in this case in Ukraine due to the war with Russia. Last week, the Russian army, led by Vladimir Putin, invaded Ukraine. Many Ukrainians have fled.
It is not known how much money the Queen has donated, but it is expected to be in the millions of pounds.

Statements of Support
Prince William, his wife Catherine, Prince Charles and Prince Harry and Meghan previously supported the people of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the British royal family for its support.
Olena and I are grateful to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge @RoyalFamily that at this crucial time, when Ukraine is courageously opposing Russia’s invasion, they stand by our country and support our brave citizens. Goodwill triumph.

Camilla in tears
On Wednesday, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla visited the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in London. Camilla was in tears several times when she spoke to representatives of the Ukrainian community in the UK about the humanitarian crisis in their country. Thanks in part to her contribution, more than 2.5 million pounds (converted slightly more than 3 million euros) was raised within a few days for the victims of the war in Ukraine.
In the Netherlands, Giro555 is organizing a special campaign on Monday 7 March in collaboration with national and regional media to collect as much money as possible for Ukraine.
