Queen Elizabeth is moved to London

On Tuesday 13 September, the coffin of the late Queen Elizabeth will be on display at St Giles’ Cathedral.

At 17:00 local time, the casket will be moved to Edinburgh Airport. From Edinburg, the coffin travels by plane to Northolt Airport. Princess Anne acts as an escort for the coffin.

The coffin is expected to arrive in London at 19:00 local time. In London, Elizabeth will be moved to Buckingham Palace, where King Charles and Queen Camilla will receive the coffin. Thousands of people are expected to line the streets to watch as the casket is transported from the airport to the palace.

On Tuesday, King Charles and Queen Camilla will travel to Belfast, where the King will meet the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland by Chris Heaton-Harris and other party leaders. The King and Queen will also meet with religious leaders, after which they will attend a function at St Anne’s Cathedral. After this, Charles and Camilla return to London.
