TOQueen Elizabeth and her vast real estate empire lacked only a pub. At least so far. The managers of Sandringham, the sovereign’s Christmas estate located in the county of Norfolk, east of London, have, in fact, proposed to the monarch to transform into a gastropub an old Victorian buildingleft abandoned a couple of years ago.
Queen Elizabeth opens a gourmet pub
The 96-year-old monarch, always interested in new ways to increase court income (in Sandringham itself he wanted a drive-in cinema, craft markets, lights and a playground), not if it has been said twice. Also because the building is particularly close to her heart, as it originally housed the Sandringham Cluba social club opened in 1884 by his great-grandfather Edward VII.
Queen Elizabeth: only high quality
The lucky ones who will make sure running the Queen’s new pub however, they will have to maintain high standards in the service offered and in the menu. In addition, they will have to do what they can to convince local residents that the quiet streets surrounding the building, overlooking bucolic meadows, will not be suddenly besieged by hordes of tourists and vehicles.
William’s joy (and family)
Located a few steps from the sovereign’s residence, near the church of St. Peter and Paul, often visited by Elisabetta, the new pub will also be located a short distance from Anmer Hall, the Cambridge country estate. And William will be happy, often seen in other pubs in the area for a pint of local beer or for a burger and fries with Kate and her children George, Charlotte and Louis.
