Queen Elizabeth also absent from anniversary concert in London | NOW

The British Queen Elizabeth was not present at the concert on the occasion of her government anniversary on Saturday evening. The BBC announced earlier in the evening that the 96-year-old queen, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are missing.

At the start of the concert in London, a video of Elizabeth was shown in which the Queen drinks tea with Paddington bear. In the video, Elizabeth smiles and shows that she keeps a jam sandwich in her handbag, the bear’s favorite snack. To announce the concert, Elizabeth tapped her teacup along with the song’s first bass sounds We Will Rock You from Queen.

Then it was switched to the podium. After the kick-off of Queen with Adam Lambert, Elton John, Alicia Keys, Nile Rodgers, Duran Duran, Diana Ross, British Eurovision singer Sam Ryder and Diversity also performed at Buckingham Palace. David Attenborough, David Beckham and Stephen Fry were also present.

Elizabeth is in fragile health. The Queen also missed Friday’s thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral and the Epsom Derby on Saturday afternoon. Despite the absence of Elizabeth, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, plenty of other royals attended the anniversary concert in London. Prince Charles addressed his mother after the concert: “You laugh and cry with us, and above all you have been there for us for seventy years”. Prince William was also present at the concert, where he expressed his concerns about climate change.
