Queen Elizabeth, 96, will not be represented at the opening of the British Parliament on Tuesday. This is the first time since 1963 that the Queen misses an opportunity.

Until Monday night, there had been hopes in the court that Queen Elizabeth would get there. It has also been the will of Queen Elizabeth.

It has now been confirmed from the palace that the Queen will not attend the event due to mobility problems. Following the guidance of doctors, the Queen has reluctantly decided to miss the opening ceremony.

The Queen has traditionally delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Instead of the Queen, Prince Charles will give a speech at the event.

The 96-year-old ruler has mobility problems and has had to cancel several of his recent public appearances.

The queen is said to be moving poorly, and using more and more aids. Indeed, Queen Elizabeth has been seen with a walking stick for the past six months.
