Quarterly sales fell by around nine percent

The British e-commerce specialist N Brown Group Plc suffered further losses in sales during the Christmas season. The parent company of the online fashion providers JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo announced this in an interim statement on Thursday.

Accordingly, group sales in the third quarter, which included the 18 weeks before January 6th, amounted to 226.0 million British pounds (263.4 million euros). Revenues were 9.3 percent below the corresponding previous year’s level.

However, the company highlighted that it was able to slow its downward trend compared to the first half of the year. Progress in the Clothing & Footwear and Home business areas contributed to this, among other things. Inventories have also been reduced compared to the previous year.

In the first 44 weeks of the current 2023/24 financial year, sales were 523.0 million British pounds, which corresponded to a decline of 9.9 percent compared to the same period last year. Management emphasized that it is sticking to its current profit targets for the full year and will continue the ongoing reform process.
